Tia Torres is the owner of Villalobos Rescue Center. Recently, she has been getting a lot of phone calls about a specific stray dog. The callers have been saying the same thing, that the dog has back injury. The callers were not sure what it was, but they said it looked terrible. Tia was roaming the said area but was not getting any luck in finding the dog. Fortunately, a police officer told her that he saw a dog sitting under a tree.He was not sure if it was the same dog that Tia was referring to, but they checked it out anyway. The officer was kind enough to walk Tia to the location. When they got there, it was the same dog that everyone has been calling about.Tia checked the injured area and realized that it was sunburn. For a sunburn to be this severe, the dog would have been exposed to the sun for hours. This dog that Tia named Polliwog was definitely tied. She has escaped her terrible ordeal. Polliwog has been getting her food from good samaritans in the area.Tia then took Pollowag back to her rescue center. Tia and her staff treated the sunburn before they brought her to the vet.A few weeks later, Polliwog was brought to the clinic to get a general check-up. The vet checked her sunburn and was happy to see that it was healing well.Tia is hoping that once Polliwog is healthy enough, she would get a good family to adopt her. Tia is a little worried, though that Polliwog might get overlooked.Black-colored dogs usually get overlooked just for their color. There are a lot of black dogs that don’t get adopted. Tia is hoping that Polliwog’s story would be different.Polliwog survived her terrible past. She was able to thrive with the help of concerned citizens. She deserves a forever family after going through all of that.Source Animal Planet via YouTube
So you want to know more about me, eh? Well, I am a Canadian, husband, and father of two young men.
I would say boys but they are not really “boys” anymore. They are 19 and 17. But they will always be my little ones. :-)
And, of course, we also have a dog. He is an Affenpinscher. Also affectionately known as a Monkey Dog.
His name is Monty. Yes, it is after Monty Python as he is a funny, crazy character.
Dogs have always been a part of my life. My parents started and owned a Dog and Cat boarding kennel just 20 minutes north of Victoria, on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia.
I started this website as a way to give back to the dog community. Which is full of many extraordinary dogs and owners doing many different and exciting things.
I hope you come back often to enjoy the wondrous stories I find.
Thank You for your time and interest.
