To have pets require excellent balancing skills. For this Malamute, attention’s mandatory; never mind that the competition’s a cute little human baby that’s a fourth of its size. We hear you, brother – a relationship isn’t one without consistency.
One lazy afternoon, friends got together for a dose of relaxation while a newcomer dressed in a cute onesie joined the gathering and seemed to steal the human’s attention. This Malamute didn’t seem to mind at first; he can handle cute and adorable, but the scene-stealing’s getting to his nerves. The human dad chuckles at the baby – the baby smiles and drools while sucking its finger. The Malamute doesn’t understand what the fuss is all about – it’s just a small human, what’s the excitement?Things get a little testy when the dog realizes that the human dad doesn’t let go of the baby – not even once. We can feel the pet grow antsy, but we also can see that he’s captivated by the newcomer’s smiles.
The faithful animal vows to show this little bundle of cuteness how he gets what he wants. The dog starts crawling towards his owner – hee inches forward and wedges himself between his human dad and the human baby. The furry dog licks his human’s face, and he bursts into laughter; take that, human kid! That’s how this dog’s loved! The baby human looks on, probably checking if tasting fur’s acceptable. The human dad finds this little needy display for attention hilarious – we do too!Massive or not, dogs just need love and attention, period. You’re adorable in your own right, pet; daddy’s just a little more taken with the human cutie now, but you have your place in his heart. You’re always loved, doggo! Just wait until that little human grows up enough to play with you – it’ll be a blast!Photo and video credit to Life with Malamutes via YouTube
So you want to know more about me, eh? Well, I am a Canadian, husband, and father of two young men.
I would say boys but they are not really “boys” anymore. They are 19 and 17. But they will always be my little ones. :-)
And, of course, we also have a dog. He is an Affenpinscher. Also affectionately known as a Monkey Dog.
His name is Monty. Yes, it is after Monty Python as he is a funny, crazy character.
Dogs have always been a part of my life. My parents started and owned a Dog and Cat boarding kennel just 20 minutes north of Victoria, on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia.
I started this website as a way to give back to the dog community. Which is full of many extraordinary dogs and owners doing many different and exciting things.
I hope you come back often to enjoy the wondrous stories I find.
Thank You for your time and interest.
