This old dog named Shey has been at the Animal Rescue League in Iowa for quite some time now. The dog’s old age became an impediment to his adoption since most adopters look for younger dogs. Shey arrived at the shelter after his former owner dumped him because he was already old and sick.
According to the volunteers, while Shey is an old dog, the pup is sweet and caring. The dog is friends with almost all other dogs in the shelter, proving that he has a great personality. But despite this upbeat personality, the dog could not find a family to take him.
Fortunately, though, a young boy named Tristan visited the shelter one day. Tristan was with his mom when he went to the animal shelter, and they were looking for a dog to adopt. According to the boy’s mom, Tristan is looking for a dog with whom he could relate.
Upon hearing this, the volunteers thought of introducing Tristan to Shey. The volunteers tried their luck on the young kid because Tristan might like Shey. When Tristan and Shey met for the first time, there was an instant connection between the two.
The dog relaxed on the kid’s lap while Tristan hugged and played with the dog’s tummy. The young kid smiled upon seeing the dog, and his mom knew that the two are a perfect match. With this, Tristan decided to adopt Shey for good because he wants to change the dog’s life.
Tristan learned about the dog’s past struggle, and he pitied the dog. But according to the young boy, all of the experiences of the dog are in the past now. Tristan vowed to make new and happy memories with the dog in their home. This assurance warmed the hearts of the volunteers because the dog finally found a loving family.

So you want to know more about me, eh? Well, I am a Canadian, husband, and father of two young men.
I would say boys but they are not really “boys” anymore. They are 19 and 17. But they will always be my little ones. :-)
And, of course, we also have a dog. He is an Affenpinscher. Also affectionately known as a Monkey Dog.
His name is Monty. Yes, it is after Monty Python as he is a funny, crazy character.
Dogs have always been a part of my life. My parents started and owned a Dog and Cat boarding kennel just 20 minutes north of Victoria, on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia.
I started this website as a way to give back to the dog community. Which is full of many extraordinary dogs and owners doing many different and exciting things.
I hope you come back often to enjoy the wondrous stories I find.
Thank You for your time and interest.
