Mothers make the ultimate sacrifices, especially when it comes to their children. Take Coco, for example, a cocker spaniel, who traveled from Europe to the US to reunite with her sick puppy for a pioneering stem cell procedure.
A life-changing reunion
Coco gave birth in the UK to a litter of six adorable puppies more than six years ago. One of her adorable pups is Millie. Millie got adopted by a couple who then immigrated to the US for their work. Nobody expected that Coco and Millie would be reunited more than six years later, and it’s one that will change their lives forever.Millie was living a great life with her humans until they found out she has cancer. Millie’s parents love her so much that they would go to any extent to save the pup’s life. Three months ago, Millie underwent chemotherapy. However, the doctors told them that the only chance for Millie’s survival now is a bone marrow transplant.
Millie’s humans reached out to Coco’s owner about the sick pup’s situation. Since Coco is Millie’s mom, there’s a huge chance that their bone marrows would match. Millie’s parents are willing to go this extra mile to save their pup’s life. They paid for Coco’s overseas trip and financed the costly transplant. After making the necessary arrangements, Coco and her owner flew from Europe to North Carolina, where the operation will take place. Coco will stay for a week so she can have ample time to recover before she flies back to Europe. This story only goes to show that Millie is such an important member of the family. She is lucky to have humans who love her so much as well as her mama Coco who’s willing to take this journey with her. We hope and pray that the procedure will be successful so that Millie and Coco can both have healthier and happier days ahead for them. Thanks to The DailyMail UK
So you want to know more about me, eh? Well, I am a Canadian, husband, and father of two young men.
I would say boys but they are not really “boys” anymore. They are 19 and 17. But they will always be my little ones. :-)
And, of course, we also have a dog. He is an Affenpinscher. Also affectionately known as a Monkey Dog.
His name is Monty. Yes, it is after Monty Python as he is a funny, crazy character.
Dogs have always been a part of my life. My parents started and owned a Dog and Cat boarding kennel just 20 minutes north of Victoria, on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia.
I started this website as a way to give back to the dog community. Which is full of many extraordinary dogs and owners doing many different and exciting things.
I hope you come back often to enjoy the wondrous stories I find.
Thank You for your time and interest.
