Jiminy Cricket was a tiny sick pittie puppy that was abandoned by his past owner. The dog looked lifeless and lost all hope until his rescuer, Shannon, came into the picture.
Lost and found
Shannon worked at the local shelter because of her love of rescuing dogs. She was reviewing some security tapes when she saw something unexpected. In the middle of the night, a truck came, and a man came out carrying a huge box. The man might’ve thought that there weren’t any cameras, so he just dumped the box on the parking lot.Shannon goes to see what’s inside the box and realizes it’s a tiny puppy. The poor thing was in horrible condition and needed medical attention. It was so heartbreaking to see this little canine looking so hopeless. Shannon decided to foster the little puppy and named him Jiminy Cricket. The puppy was left at the vet clinic to be checked upon and had his scars treated. After a few days, the staff allowed Shannon to take home the puppy.Jiminy Cricket didn’t easily adjust to his new home. He had his tail tucked, but h was eating a bit, which was a good sign. The puppy’s daily routine would go from waking up, eating, going to the bathroom, and going to sleep again. Shannon knew she needed to give him some space to heal on his own. When the first week passed, the puppy became cuddlier with Shannon. Whenever she’d put the little guy out in the yard, he slowly walked around a bit and got more familiar with the place. The little pittie always had this smile on his face and looked like he felt safe in his new home. Jiminy Cricket started acting like a regular puppy.
Brand new dog
It didn’t take long before the puppy’s fur grew back. He also interacted with Shannon’s other dogs and thrived. After three months of having him, Shannon was debating on whether she should adopt the puppy. She was so proud of how far he came and was glad to be part of his journey.Jiminy Cricket was barely four pounds when Shannon found him. He used to be this sick puppy but has transformed into a brand new dog.Shannon knew she couldn’t just let go of the puppy, so she officially made him part of their family. Jiminy Cricket was her fourth rescue dog and her most special one. She couldn’t imagine a life without him.Watch the heartwarming video below:Video Source: The Dodo via Youtube
So you want to know more about me, eh? Well, I am a Canadian, husband, and father of two young men.
I would say boys but they are not really “boys” anymore. They are 19 and 17. But they will always be my little ones. :-)
And, of course, we also have a dog. He is an Affenpinscher. Also affectionately known as a Monkey Dog.
His name is Monty. Yes, it is after Monty Python as he is a funny, crazy character.
Dogs have always been a part of my life. My parents started and owned a Dog and Cat boarding kennel just 20 minutes north of Victoria, on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia.
I started this website as a way to give back to the dog community. Which is full of many extraordinary dogs and owners doing many different and exciting things.
I hope you come back often to enjoy the wondrous stories I find.
Thank You for your time and interest.
