It does not matter what size it is. For Luna, what is important is that she is playing with toys that look like hedgehogs. She does not care if the toy is old or new or if it is huge. She just loves all of them.Alexa Ferguson is Luna’s fur-parent and she says that she is quite baffled why her dog loves hedgehogs. She also says that Luna is now the proud owner of hedgehog toys – a total of 10 – and the dog just plays with all of them. For Alexa, it is okay with her if she keeps on giving Luna these hedgehog toys. See, Luna was a stray before. She roamed the streets of San Bernardino, California. It was a good thing that an officer from animal control found her and rescued her. A shelter took her in and nobody came to claim the dog or even adopt her. Luna was about to get euthanized.Luna had luck on her side though because a rescue group from Canada, RainCost Dog Rescue Society, took Luna with them and gave her a foster home. It was Alexa’s home that Luna lived in as a foster and Alexa, later on, adopted the dog. Alexa had been wanting to have a dog that time and it was just sheer luck.Alexa said that she was surprised by everything that Luna did. She seemed to be afraid of everything, Alexa said, and she also had very tender paws which bled even if it was just for a short walk.To help the dog, Alexa thought of giving Luna a present – a toy that she could play with and also be her companion. Alexa said that it seemed like Luna didn’t get any toys before so it was just right that she get one now.Maybe because it was her first time to get a toy, Luna became obsessed with the hedgehog toy that Alexa gave her. After that, Luna just didn’t care about any other toys that Alexa gave her – except if they were in the form of hedgehogs.Source: Alexa Ferguson via The Dodo
So you want to know more about me, eh? Well, I am a Canadian, husband, and father of two young men.
I would say boys but they are not really “boys” anymore. They are 19 and 17. But they will always be my little ones. :-)
And, of course, we also have a dog. He is an Affenpinscher. Also affectionately known as a Monkey Dog.
His name is Monty. Yes, it is after Monty Python as he is a funny, crazy character.
Dogs have always been a part of my life. My parents started and owned a Dog and Cat boarding kennel just 20 minutes north of Victoria, on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia.
I started this website as a way to give back to the dog community. Which is full of many extraordinary dogs and owners doing many different and exciting things.
I hope you come back often to enjoy the wondrous stories I find.
Thank You for your time and interest.
