Diasozo Animal Rescue is an organization based in Karditsa, Greece. The founder is Ermioni Giannakou, and she aims to give assistance to abused, mistreated, and starving animals. On the way to their usual activity of feeding local stray dogs, they spotted a dog roaming around the lonely road. Sure enough, Ermioni wouldn’t want to leave this poor dog on the street. So, she stopped the car and decided to help the dog. However, the dog seemed terrified of people so, helping her won’t be an easy task.
While the world is in a dilemma because of COVID-19, the stray animals aren’t living well too. Most of them depend on people for food, and because of the lockdown imposed on many cities, they are unable to find a food source. Thus, Ermioni sprinkled food to lure the stray, and it wasn’t working out at first. But soon enough, the stray’s hunger became unbearable and would go back to eat for more. Little did this fearful dog know, this temptation that she is slowly submitting to is the key to a new life.Soon enough, Ermioni successfully scooped the dog up and loaded her into the vehicle. She then brought her over to the vet to check for possible illnesses. The poor dog only weighed 12 pounds! The dog had to stay at the clinic for a few days to get treatment for dehydration, malnourishment, and heartworm. This gave Ermioni ample time to find a foster home. The moment the dog became medically cleared, Ermioni herself decided to foster her! She gave her the name Krispy.Krispy was once living off food on different people and the streets, but now she has a home, warm bed, and food for the entire day. We hope she gets adopted soon! You can watch the amazing rescue and transformation of Krispy below:Thanks to DAR Animal Rescue for the video and photos.
So you want to know more about me, eh? Well, I am a Canadian, husband, and father of two young men.
I would say boys but they are not really “boys” anymore. They are 19 and 17. But they will always be my little ones. :-)
And, of course, we also have a dog. He is an Affenpinscher. Also affectionately known as a Monkey Dog.
His name is Monty. Yes, it is after Monty Python as he is a funny, crazy character.
Dogs have always been a part of my life. My parents started and owned a Dog and Cat boarding kennel just 20 minutes north of Victoria, on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia.
I started this website as a way to give back to the dog community. Which is full of many extraordinary dogs and owners doing many different and exciting things.
I hope you come back often to enjoy the wondrous stories I find.
Thank You for your time and interest.
