Buboy is a stray dog who stays around the campus of Mabalacat City College (MCC) in Pampanga, Philippines. Recently, he was seen sitting outside the school’s faculty office, scraping the door. Buboy was hoping that his favorite person will step out to give him some food and head scratches like he always does. This sight broke the hearts of many students and school staff. They knew that Buboy’s dad was never coming back, but the poor dog didn’t. Professor Carmelito Marcelo has put Buboy under his care for the last four years. Recently, the professor passed away after getting confined in the hospital for a few weeks due to a stroke.Marcelo’s colleague, Kristina Demafelix, said that Buboy followed the professor wherever he goes. Every morning, the dog waits at the gate to greet Marcelo. He would trail after his dad from class to class. At lunchtime, they would stay at the faculty office to eat together. Then, by the end of the day, Buboy would see Marcelo off at the gate. On days when Marcelo didn’t have classes, he would still go to school to see and feed the pup. While the professor was in confined in the hospital, Demafelix already noticed Buboy hanging around their office. Buboy continued to wait for weeks, unaware of what happened to his dad. She said on a Facebook post that Buboy couldn’t express the pain because he didn’t know why all of a sudden, his dad didn’t go to school. So, Demafelix decided to step in to give the dog the closure that he needed. She brought him to Marcelo’s wake for him to say his final goodbye. Buboy gazed at his beloved friend who was lying in the coffin. When it was time to leave, he refused to budge and tried to hold on to the profession’s casket. After Marcelo’s death, the members of the faculty have all decided to care for Buboy. However, a few weeks later, Buboy also died after he was run over by a vehicle. According to one of the teachers at MCC, he was crossing the highway while following a guard when the tragic incident happened.Credit: Mark Christian Pineda Arceo, GMA News
So you want to know more about me, eh? Well, I am a Canadian, husband, and father of two young men.
I would say boys but they are not really “boys” anymore. They are 19 and 17. But they will always be my little ones. :-)
And, of course, we also have a dog. He is an Affenpinscher. Also affectionately known as a Monkey Dog.
His name is Monty. Yes, it is after Monty Python as he is a funny, crazy character.
Dogs have always been a part of my life. My parents started and owned a Dog and Cat boarding kennel just 20 minutes north of Victoria, on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia.
I started this website as a way to give back to the dog community. Which is full of many extraordinary dogs and owners doing many different and exciting things.
I hope you come back often to enjoy the wondrous stories I find.
Thank You for your time and interest.
