There are countless stories out there about small puppies with cleft palates who grew up healthy. It’s always wonderful to hear stories about them. The following story is an example of another miracle.Kane is an American bully pup, and he was born with a cleft palate. He lived in an incubator in his early days, and he had to be fed via a tube. Melissa was the person taking care of Kane when he was really young. When Kane was a puppy, his size was comparable to a box of Tic Tac. They also discovered that Kane’s right eye was blind by the time he was six weeks old. The caretakers were not sure if Kane would go completely blind.Kane soon started doing things on his own. For such a small dog, he was strong. He was resilient and would not let himself get bullied by other bigger dogs. It’s amazing because he showed these traits when he was a puppy.Kane was so lively and had some cute quirks. Whenever he gets excited about food, his mouth would shiver. He would also raise his legs whenever he eats a meal.A doctor suggested that Kane’s blind eye should be removed. Melissa followed suit and had Kane go through surgery. After that, Kane was just as lively as before.Melissa loves how Kane’s skin moves with his body. She loves how vocal he can get. He doesn’t bark. Instead, he has a unique noise he makes when he wants attention.Needless to say, this is another example of a puppy with medical problems who overcame them. Like many other dogs, Kane was a survivor. Melissa and all the people who helped the dog also deserve credit and praise. The Dodo always uploads stories like this one on their social media platforms. So you want to know more about me, eh? Well, I am a Canadian, husband, and father of two young men.
I would say boys but they are not really “boys” anymore. They are 19 and 17. But they will always be my little ones. :-)
And, of course, we also have a dog. He is an Affenpinscher. Also affectionately known as a Monkey Dog.
His name is Monty. Yes, it is after Monty Python as he is a funny, crazy character.
Dogs have always been a part of my life. My parents started and owned a Dog and Cat boarding kennel just 20 minutes north of Victoria, on Vancouver Island, in British Columbia.
I started this website as a way to give back to the dog community. Which is full of many extraordinary dogs and owners doing many different and exciting things.
I hope you come back often to enjoy the wondrous stories I find.
Thank You for your time and interest.
